Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter (CDPF) for Diesel Engines
Catalyzed diesel particulate filter (CDPF) are designed to reduce harmful emissions of particulate matter (PM) from diesel engines. The primary role of a CDPF is to trapping particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust gas and then continuously burn them to regenerate itself at normal diesel operation exhaust temperature, continuously operate without becoming plugged.
The main purpose of the catalyst is to facilitate passive regeneration of the filter by enabling the oxidation of diesel particulate matter under exhaust temperatures experienced during regular operation of the engine/vehicle, typically in the 300-400 ºC range.
